We are celebrating America’s 250th birthday and Colorado’s 150th (Sesquicentennial) with a month-long series of events across the county. From hands-on STEAM projects and pioneer storytimes to community singing and collaborative art\, we invite you to connect with the stories\, science\, and songs that shaped our nation and state. \nEvent Schedule & Locations\nCedaredge Library\n\n\nPioneer Town Storytime (Ages 0-5): Step back in time at Pioneer Town on the first Tuesday of each month. Features hands-on crafts and stories that bring local history to life. \n\n\nBen Franklin Science Saturdays (Ages 6-12): Explore early inventions with STEAM projects. Saturdays in May (starting May 9)\, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. \n\n\nCrawford Library\n\n\nCommunity Sing: Lift your voice in a tradition of harmony and heritage. \n\n\nMay 12 at 4:00 PM: Series kickoff with Linda McVehil. \n\n\nTuesdays starting May 19 at 4:00 PM: Led by retired music teacher Mark Bishop. \n\n\nNote: This series culminates in a special fall performance! \n\n\n\n\nDelta Library (Drop-in Activities)\n\n\nJourney Through Time Exhibit: Explore rotating monthly displays bridging 150 years of Colorado heritage and 250 years of American history. \n\n\nCommunity Quilt Project: Help celebrate Colorado’s 150th birthday by decorating your own quilt block. All materials are provided\, and no sewing experience is required. The final quilt will be unveiled in August. \n\n\nPaonia Library\n\n\nHonor Books & Exhibits: Visit the adult reading area for a specialized historical exhibit and pick up a free honor book about Colorado and U.S. history.
