Illegal dumping impacts local wildlife and recreation; this annual event is a vital effort to restore and preserve the natural beauty of the badlands for future generations. Whether you are part of an off-road club\, a school group\, or a solo volunteer\, every hand makes a difference in keeping Delta County beautiful. \nVolunteers will work alongside community partners like Delta Compost\, BLM\, and the Delta County Commissioners to remove waste and tires. Last year\, volunteers removed 40 cubic yards of waste and 37 tires in just four hours—let’s top that impact in 2026! \nEvent Details\n\n\nDate: Saturday\, May 30\, 2026 \n\n\nTime: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\nLocation: Meet at the intersection of Trap Club Road & Fairview Road\, Eckert\, CO \n\n\nRequirements: Ages 16+. The full 26.2-mile marathon starts on the shores of Crawford State Park\, while the 30K (18-mile) option begins near the iconic Needle Rock. \nBoth courses feature a challenging climb of over 4\,000 feet to the 9\,762-foot summit of Inter-Ocean Pass before descending through golden aspen stands and oak forests into the town of Paonia.
