Visitor Guides

An epic outdoor playground filled with larger-than-life adventures and unforgettable scenery any time of year for all kinds of travelers. A home to creative and talented artisans of all kinds, who express their passion for Delta County through food and art. A place full of stories old and new, where people gather at the end of each day to share their experiences over fresh-local cuisine and beverages.

All the inspiration you need to linger.

Delta County has three distinct areas of interest for our visitors. Delta, with the Dominguez Escalante and Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Areas (NCAs), is the local gateway into the canyons. The award winning Devil’s Thumb Golf course, historic Egyptian Theater and an up and coming food scene, make Destination Delta a fun spot to call homebase while enjoying the massive outdoor recreation.

The Surface Creek Area is home to the first Little Britches Rodeo, the highest elevation apple orchard in North America, Cedaredge Golf Club and Pioneer Town. All of these wonderful attractions are the gateway to the Grand Mesa, the largest flattop mountain in the world. With over 300 lakes and numerous creeks and streams it makes a angler’s paradise year round and in the winter has miles of groomed and mapped trails for all of your snow toys from snowshoes to snowmobiles.

Finally the North Fork Valley, an eclectic region in the county offering farm-to-table dinners, wineries, the North Fork Creative District, Jumbo Mountain Bike Trail, and the entrance to the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. A region that celebrates mining history, the cowboy way, organic farming and the unique qualities of it’s residents.

A guide to things to do while visiting Delta County in western Colorado, nestled between high country of the Grand Mesa and West Elks Mountains, and the slick rock canyons of the Gunnison River. Come play with us!
