Writers of the Western Slope, your stage is waiting! The Blue Sage Center for the Arts has officially opened submissions for the 21st Annual Harvest of Voices, a signature literary event of the autumn season. This celebrated community tradition shines a spotlight on local literary talent, inviting regional writers to submit original poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and essays.

A panel of judges will select pieces for a powerful evening of live, spoken-word performances in September. Whether you are an established author or a first-time writer with a story to share, this is your opportunity to connect with an appreciative audience and celebrate the unique creative spirit of our region.

Submission Guidelines & Event Details

  • Who Can Submit: Open to all writers living on the Western Slope of Colorado.

  • Word Count Limit: Maximum of 1,000 words per piece.

  • Submission Deadline: Monday, August 3, 2026, by 5:00 PM.

  • Live Performance Date: Thursday, September 24, 2026.
