Celebrate a Moment in History with Delta County

In 2026, the United States will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. At the same time, Colorado will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its entrance into the Union—our state’s Sesquisemiquincentennial. As the Centennial State, Colorado is the only one who will observe twin anniversaries—our Semi -quincentennial—our nation’s Sesquisemiquincentennial, or America 250- Colorado 150 for those of us struggling to pronounce Sesquisemiquincentennial………

This is a powerful moment to reflect on our shared history, and here in Delta County, we’re ready to kick it off! We’re celebrating our heritage, our land, and our people with a full slate of fun events. Look for celebrations showcasing our unique regional heritage, like the official “Mountain and Mesa Region” logo for the Colorado 150 commemoration.
